Therese Clemens, CAEThérèse Oetgen Clemens, CAE, has over 20 years of non-profit management experience, and has been a member of the AMG team since 2007. As a senior account executive, she currently serves as the Executive Director of two organizations, each with roots in the field of mental and behavioral health; The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) and Imago Relationships International (IRI). Her focus is to strengthen the volunteer leadership of these two groups.

Prior to her tenure at AMG, Clemens served as the Executive Director at the Friends of NIH (formerly known as the Friends of the Clinical Center), a charity at the National Institutes of Health that raises and provides funds to aid patients participating in medical research protocols. She has worked with a variety of non-profit organizations including the Society of Biblical Literature and PEOPLINK, Inc. Her experience crosses into the sales department of hotels and with destination management firms, giving her a broad based spectrum of insight into association management and the closely related meetings and hospitality industry.

Clemens has a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, and post graduate study in Theatre Management. Clemens’ training fully prepared her to segue into a career in non-profit management and meetings management. Each new career adventure has proven to her the Shakespearean adage that “all the world’s a stage” to be relevant and true. In 2010 she received the President’s Award from the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.

Clemens is married to her college sweetheart, and together they have three grown children.
