Laura Ransone

Director of Membership & Events, Women in Government Relations (WGR)

Laura serves Women in Government Relations (WGR) as Director of Membership & Events. WGR is a professional association working to advance and empower women in the field of government relations through education, leadership, and networking opportunities.

As Director of Membership & Events she manages large scale projects, events, and partnerships including planning and executing over 200 events per year as well as building relationships with over 1100 members. Laura also manages the organization’s communications including marketing, social media, and website. She is serves as the staff liaison to membership, leadership, and committee members and helps ensure implementation and completion of committee charges and other initiatives set by the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Laura also serves on the Young Professionals committee with the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

Laura graduated cum laude from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Business and concentration in Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2013 and is currently pursuing a MBA at George Mason University.

She lives in Arlington, Virginia and volunteers as a basketball coach for Arlington Parks and Rec and a field hockey coach at Falls Church high school.
